For holiday lets, short stays and guest accommodation

Give every guest a bin-day handover that works

Check the collection calendar for the property, add the practical details only a host can know, then share its read-only link or QR code.

First confirm the collection service registered to the property, then check the address for its available calendar.

Set it up once, hand it over clearly

BinMinder keeps the latest collection dates and your practical property instructions together for guests.

  1. Confirm the collection service

Check which council, provider, business or private collection service the property uses. Then choose its country, enter the complete address and review the applicable dates before signing up.

    Choose a country
  2. Write the guest bin note

In the private management page, add a short Guest bin note. You can also add the bin-store location, collection point, set-out routine, sorting details and a simple checkout request. Save a separate edition for each language you author.

  3. Copy the household link

Choose My bin day, then use Copy household link or Show property QR code for a guest to scan. The same page shows the latest dates alongside your saved note.

Bins at this property

See the next collection and which bin goes out: [paste the household link].

The bins are stored [location]. Please place the named bin [official set-out location] by [locally confirmed time]. If anything is unclear, leave it where it is and contact [host or manager].

Keep the handover safe and accurate

  • Use the bin names shown for this property; colours are not universal.
  • Confirm what belongs in each bin from the official local source.
  • Keep bulky, hazardous and one-off collections out of the routine unless the provider explicitly includes them.
  • Ask for a simple handover. The host remains responsible for the property’s waste arrangements.

What guests can see

The household link is deliberately narrower than the host’s management link.

Anyone with the household link can view its collection dates and saved guest instructions. Reset it from the management page if it is shared more widely than intended; changing the property also replaces the old viewing link.

Let guests read it in an offered language

On multilingual country pages, guests can change the household page language without changing the host’s reminder language. Canada offers English and French; several European markets offer their local language and English.

Questions hosts ask first

Do guests need a BinMinder account?

No. The shared household page opens from its read-only link. Guests do not enter an email or change reminder settings.

Can I add my bin-store instructions to BinMinder?

Yes. The private management page has a Guest bin note editor with optional fields for storage, set-out, sorting, after-collection and checkout details. Guests see the saved edition on the read-only household page.

Can a holiday let use the household collection?

Not always. Confirm the council, provider or collection service registered to the property before sharing dates. A household address result does not confirm that a holiday let may use that service, and a business or private collection may follow a different schedule. Dorset Council, for example, says holiday lets and self-catering accommodation in its area cannot use its household bin collection service.

What if the collection page is empty or out of date?

Open the official source linked on the household page and update your guest instructions before sharing them.

What does the property QR code contain?

Only the current read-only household URL and selected page language. BinMinder creates it in your browser without sending the link to a QR service. Reset the shared link if the code is distributed too widely.

What happens if I pause or stop reminders?

The household link and its QR code stop opening while reminders are paused or stopped. The saved guest note returns with the same link if you resume. This is the current behaviour, so keep reminders active while guests need the shared page.

Is BinMinder affiliated with Airbnb?

No. BinMinder is an independent service for hosts and guests across holiday-let platforms and direct stays.
