Cookies
This page lists the cookies BinMinder sets and the other companies whose code may run on the site. None of our first-party cookies contains your name, address, email address or phone number.
Choosing what you allow
Google tags are told to store nothing until its consent dialog records your choice. If the dialog cannot load, consent remains denied.
The address lookup, signup and guides work without advertising or analytics storage. We use Google’s dialog rather than asking the same question in a second banner.

These first-party cookies are readable only by the BinMinder site you visit.

| bm_uid | A random site-only string used to count one returning visitor once. | 365 days |
| bm_d | Today’s date, preventing multiple page views from being counted as multiple visitors. | 2 days |
| bm_hero | The homepage headline version shown to you. | 30 days |
| bm_signup | The signup-form wording shown to you. | 30 days |

bm_uid and bm_d are HttpOnly, so page JavaScript cannot read them. Wording cookies keep an experiment version stable between visits.
Cookies other companies set
These providers may run on BinMinder pages. Their linked policies are the authoritative descriptions of their cookies.
- Google AdSense: Funds free reminders; cookies support frequency limits, fraud prevention and, only with consent, personalisation. Provider cookie information
- Google Analytics: Measures page use. It stores cookies only after consent. Provider cookie information
Not cookies, but still on your device
- Your last lookup (bm_last_check in local storage) lets the browser offer the same address again; this feature does not send it elsewhere.
- A service worker is registered only if you enable browser reminders, so notifications can arrive while the tab is closed.
- binminder_token in local storage is the key to your reminder settings. It remains until browser data is cleared; anyone with it can change or stop reminders.
binminder_household: Save this household on this browser so you can open My bin day next time. Use this on a device you trust. Forget this household: Household removed from this browser.
Blocking or deleting cookies
Browsers can block or delete cookies for one site. Lookup, guides and signup still work; experiment wording may change and you may be counted as a new visitor each time.
